A Mother's Day Plea

With all this hate in the world, between the bombings and shootings, rape and murder cases, you can see there are many who do not value human life.

Patrick has asked me not to look into the details of the case of Ariel Castro, the man that held the 3 Cleveland women captive and what he did to them and those babies and that man who called himself a doctor in Philadelphia, Kermit Gosnell who did the unthinkable to innocent newborn babies.  I know enough that still bring tears to my eyes, without reading the gory details.  And this so-called dr and my children are the reasons why I went from pro-choice to Pro-Life.  I won't get into a debate here, that's not what this post is about.  All I can say is, I choose to value human life.

Anyone that could do these things to these infant babies, deserves whatever God sees fit for them.

My Mother's Day plea is simple.

If you have children, or are expecting a child, have children in your life at all, I'm talking to you.

Help remind people: family, friends, neighbors, of the good in the world.
Show them that there are more good people than bad in this world.

When your baby screams all night the night before, and keeps you awake all night...
        Don't complain.

Smile knowing that baby needs and loves you unconditionally.

Remember there are many who ache to have sleepless nights.

When your kids have a fight or throw a tantrum in Target...
     Don't ignore them.

Do something about it-Teach them to communicate what their needs or desires are
(and yes I know this IS possible, I have witnessed EXCELLENT parenting within our
     extended families)

Remember that there are many who give give anything to break up a sibling fight or handle a tantrum
    throwing toddler.

When your toddler or preschooler decides to redecorate the living room with splashes of crayon on the wall...

     Don't yell and scream.

Teach them why what they did is wrong, help them grow.

Be thankful that you are a mom.

All week I've seen posts about funny mother's day wishes or top 10 things mom wants:
"I'm sick of wiping butts, I'm sick of screaming children" yada yada

I want to yell, "SHUT UP!"  I would give ANYTHING to wipe my baby's dirty butt, or to have HUGE ugly bags under my eyes because I was up all night snuggling my baby.

Be thankful you have your children with you.

Love the crayon cards and plastic bead necklaces, and let your children see that you love them.

Do it for those of us that can't.

Those of us who don't have sleepless nights,

or countless dirty diapers to change

Those that don't have to figure out carpool or which babysitter to call

Because we would change places with you,  in a heartbeat.

Please don't take those things for granted.

Be thankful you have your children with you, even if they drive you crazy sometimes. And please stop taking that for granted.
